Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is provided through the Metropolitan State Alumni Association for graduates of Metropolitan State University who are seeking their second degree, either undergraduate or graduate. Scholarship amounts that generally average $1000 each will be awarded annually.

American Family Insurance Endowed Scholarship
This fund provides scholarship awards that generally average $500 to undergraduate students enrolled in the university's College of Management who have expressed an interest in exploring a career in the insurance industry.

Reginald and Frances Coakley Ames Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards that generally average $2,500 each. To qualify, applicants must be a resident of Dakota, Ramsey or Washington County. The fund is supported by the Reginald and Frances Coakley Ames Family Fund of The Saint Paul Foundation.

M. Olivia Bradshaw Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship award was established to honor the memory of M. Olivia Bradshaw, mother of former Metropolitan State University President Wilson G. Bradshaw. Funding was provided by Wilson G. and Jo Anna Bradshaw, as well as Metropolitan State University staff, faculty and students. Award amounts generally average $750.

Marilyn T. Bryant Endowed Scholarship
Established by former Metropolitan State University Foundation Board member, Marilyn T. Bryant, this scholarship provides financial assistance to a student in a College of Management graduate program who maintains a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Annual award amounts generally average $2,000 each.

John C. Burton Endowed Scholarship in Individualized Studies
Established to honor John Burton by his widow, Sandy, for students in the College of Individualized Studies. He was an award-winning faculty advisor at the university for nearly twenty five years. Criteria to be determined by donor.

Jason Carter Endowment in Science (Recruitment Scholarship)
This recruitment scholarship was established to honor the memory of former student Jason Carter by his parents, Diana and Robert Carter, for new students in good academic standing with an intended major in Natural Sciences.

Jason Carter Endowment in Science (Retention Scholarship)
This retention scholarship was established to honor the memory of former student Jason Carter by his parents, Diana and Robert Carter, to inspire Natural Sciences students with a minimum grade point average of 2.75 to have the grit and perseverance to reach their dream of earning a college degree.

Jason Carter Research Endowment
This research and travel scholarship was established to honor the memory of Jason Carter by his parents, Diana and Robert Carter, to provide Natural Sciences students the opportunity to participate in faculty led research projects and present those findings at conferences.

Kathleen E. Chalekian Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Metropolitan State Community Faculty, Kathleen Chalekian. Undergraduate students with a declared marketing major and graduate students with an identified concentration in Marketing and a minimum grade point average of 3.25 are eligible. Award amount generally average $1000.

College of Individualized Studies - Wisdom Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is for College of Individualized Studies students interested in the study of any of these disciplines; science, systems, ethics, ecology, and the arts, and engaged in hands-on community-based work. Awards generally average $1000 and will be made based on financial need. Recipients must be enrolled in four credits the semester in which funds are applied and maintain a 3.0 minimum grade point average.

Herbert Collins Endowed Scholarship
Established to honor Herbert Collins, who advocated for students of color to finish their higher education degrees, by his widow, Nadya. This scholarship is for students in math or science majors or those who can demonstrate a history of supporting persons of color in teaching them math or the sciences.

Community Involvement Scholarship
This fund, established by the faculty, staff and students of Metropolitan State University, awards amounts generally average $250-500 each to students in their Junior or Senior year who demonstrate community involvement and have a grade point average of 3.0 or above.

Jerry Cotton Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Metropolitan State alumnus Jerry Cotton. Undergraduate students with a law enforcement or criminal justice major pursuing a degree who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible.

Drug and Alcohol Counseling Endowed Scholarship
Financial Support for students with an academic focus in drug or alcohol counseling.

Faculty Textbook Scholars Fund
Supported by the faculty of Metropolitan State, this fund provides financial assistance for students to purchase textbooks.

Finance Recruitment Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is available to individuals interested in enrolling and studying Finance at Metropolitan State University who have financial need, a minimum grade point average of 3.0, and a minimum of 16 transferable credits.

Patrick E. Flahaven Graduate Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honor Patrick E. Flahaven for his commitment to higher education by his wife, Maureen. Annual scholarship award amount averages $1000 to graduate students with a minimum grade point average of 3.0.

Gomez Family Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is provided through the generous contributions of the Maria and Ramon Gomez Family. These funds support annual scholarships to undergraduate juniors or seniors and graduate program students. Award amounts generally average $1000 each.


Beverly N. Grossman Endowed Scholarship
This renewable scholarship provides financial assistance to students in a Metropolitan State undergraduate or graduate nursing program with a focus on geriatrics and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Annual scholarship award amounts generally average $3000 each.

Hammersmith-Uniacke Distinguished Science Endowed Scholarship
Established by Sue K. Hammersmith, Metropolitan State University's sixth president from 2008-2014, and her husband, Allyn Uniacke, this recruitment scholarship is for students transferring into a major in the College of Sciences at the university who have financial need, a minimum grade point average of 3.0, and a minimum of 16 transferable credits. One award of at least $1,500 is made each academic year.

Pamela M. Hartley Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship provides funds to support undergraduate and graduate students with financial need and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, in good academic standing with the University.

Iris Kiedrowski Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship provides awards to undergraduate students enrolled in Metropolitan State University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Annual award amounts generally average $500.

Forrest W. King Endowed Textbook Scholarship
This fund provides scholarships to cover books for Metropolitan State courses. Award amounts generally average $115 each.

N. Judge and Reatha Clark King Family Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established to assist low income students who maintain at least half time status (6 credits per semester). Award amounts generally average $1,000 - $3,000. (Applied for within the Reatha Clark King Scholarship application.)

Reatha Clark King Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honor former Metropolitan State President Dr. Reatha Clark King. To qualify, applicants must be low income students who maintain at least half time status (6 credits per semester). Award amounts generally average $1,000 - $3,000.

Kopp Family Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is provided through generous contributions from Lee Kopp of Kopp Family Foundation. The funds support scholarships to undergraduate students with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Award amounts generally average $1,500. Kopp Recruitment Scholarship
This scholarship provided through generous contributions from the Kopp Family Foundation is available to individuals interested in enrolling and studying a to Metropolitan State University who have financial need, a minimum grade point average of 3.0, and a minimum of 16 transferable credits.

Nancy Latimer Early Childhood Endowed Scholarship
This fund, established by the McKnight Foundation to honor former senior program officer, Nancy Latimer, provides scholarships annually to Juniors or Seniors majoring in early childhood studies. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Award amounts generally average $2200.

Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Scholarship
Eligible undergraduate students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above and be enrolled in and pursuing a degree in the Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice program.

LGBTQ and Allies Scholarship
The LGBTQ and Allies Scholarship fund was established to recognize and empower those Metropolitan State students who demonstrate activism and leadership within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, and/or allied community within Metropolitan State University, the broader community, or both.

Carmen Love Endowed Scholarship

Lukaszewski Family Professional Development Fund
This fund, established by Jim Lukaszewski (a 1974 alumnus of Metropolitan State) and his family, has been made available to help Metropolitan State University undergraduate and graduate students gain a competitive advantage in the workplace through professional development activities prior to graduation.

Bonnie Luke Scholarship
Bonnie Luke was an academic advisor at Metropolitan State from 1988 to 1994. She had a high regard for students who struggled to balance career, home and children. This scholarship celebrates her commitment to higher education. Award amounts generally average $750.

Mains'l Scholarship
Provided through a generous contribution from Mains'l Services Inc., scholarships of approximately $500-$1000 are provided to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 minimum grade point average and a declared major or minor in Human Services or College of Individualized Studies students who have an aging/gerontology or disabilities focus.

Fred Manzara Memorial Endowed Fund
This fund was established to honor the memory of Dr. Fred Manzara, a well-respected faculty member in the University's College of Management. Monies in this fund are used to sponsor the Fredrick Manzara Lecture series, support the Frederick Manzara Scholar Award and scholarships for students in the College of Management and some faculty support for significant career enhancing opportunities leading to improved teaching.

Math Scholarship
This scholarship of approximately $900 per year is provided to students with a major in applied mathematics or mathematics teaching.

Roger and Nancy McCabe Endowed Scholarship in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice
This scholarship provides awards to undergraduate students majoring in and pursing a degree in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Award amounts generally average $1500.

Roger and Nancy McCabe Endowed Scholarship in Nursing
This scholarship provides annual award amounts that generally average $1000 to students enrolled in Metropolitan State University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Roger and Nancy McCabe Endowed Scholarship in Social Work
This annual scholarship provides award amounts that generally average $1000 to students enrolled in Metropolitan State University's Social Work Program with a GPA or 3.0 or higher.

Roger and Nancy McCabe Endowed Scholarship in Urban Teaching
This scholarship provides awards amounts that generally average $500 annually to students enrolled in Metropolitan State University's Urban Teacher Program with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and the ability to demonstrate they've had a culturally and linguistically diverse life experience.

Roger and Nancy McCabe Endowed Military Fund
This endowment was established to support the emergency needs of Metropolitan State's active duty military and veteran students with an unforeseen financial hardship to ensure student retention and eliminate barriers to a student's degree completion. This fund does not cover tuition, fees or books.

Metro Complete Scholarship
A scholarship program available to students in good academic standing who left the university within one semester of earning their Baccalaureate degree and have not actively taken a course in three years or more. Amounts up to $1000 will help cover the cost of one course or the amount of an unpaid balance at Metropolitan State (when state and federal financial aid is no longer available, including grants and loans).

Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is provided through the generous contributions of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants to junior or senior students majoring in and pursuing a degree in Accounting with a GPA of 3.25 or higher and who have completed Acct 310-Financial Reporting. These funds support one award of $1,000 annually.

Susan Morrison Endowed Scholarship in Urban Teaching
This scholarship was established by Metropolitan State University Alumnus and former Foundation Board member, Susan Morrison. Award amounts generally average $2,500 to undergraduate students who are pursuing a teaching degree in the Urban Teacher Program.

Karl Neid Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship, established by the widow of St. Paul City Councilmember, Karl Neid, is offered once every two years and provides award amounts that generally average $1,000 to students who are residents of the East Side of St. Paul or graduated from an East Side high school.

Nursing and Health Sciences Scholarship
Eligible students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above and be enrolled in a Nursing and Health Sciences program.

Oehlke Family Scholarship
This renewable scholarship is available annually to undergraduate nursing students who are juniors or seniors with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Prison Education Scholarship
This scholarship was established to assist students who are enrolled in the university's prison program by helping them obtain their higher education degree, thus giving them an increased chance of gaining stable employment after release.

Psychology Scholarship
This fund was established to support undergraduate students majoring in Psychology.

Random Acts of Kindness Emergency Scholarship
This emergency fund established by the Kopp Family Foundation provides immediate assistance to students with unexpected financial hardships that could prohibit them from continuing their education. Generally, these fund are not for tuition and fees.

RCB Management Scholarship
This recruitment scholarship is for students who are new to Metropolitan State and intending to pursue a major in the College of Management who have financial need, a minimum grade point average of 3.0, and a minimum of 16 transferable credits.

Recruitment Scholarship
Financial support for students who wish to transfer from another higher education institution to Metropolitan State and is available to individuals who have financial need, a minimum grade point average of 2.0, and a minimum of 16 transferable credits.

Robert B. and Kathleen C. Ridder Endowed Scholarship in Linguistics
This scholarship is for students who are studying language and/or linguistics as part of their bachelor's degrees. Applicants must have successfully completed two language courses at Metropolitan State with a grade of A or B. The Ridder's gave this scholarship to encourage the study of linguistics and world languages at Metropolitan State.


Charlie Rounds and Mark Hiemenz Urban Teacher Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to teacher candidates in the Urban Teacher Program interested in teaching in urban schools. Additional criteria to be determined by donor.

Sachiko Scholarship for Peace
The Sachiko Scholarship for Peace was established to honor Nagasaki atomic bomb survivor Sachiko Yasui and her work for world peace. It provides two $500 scholarships to participate in an exchange program with Nagasaki University. If selected as a recipient, student will register for Metropolitan State University's ESCI 360I Environmental Science Individualized Internship (2 cr). Students will travel to Nagasaki, Japan and attend the International Environmental Expert Seminar at Nagasaki University (August 18-30, 2017). This is not a group study tour with an instructor/chaperone.

Science Education Retention Scholarship
This scholarship is available to undergraduate students with a major in the College of Sciences. Qualified applicants must demonstrate financial need and have a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Award amounts generally average $1,500.

Shumer Community Engagement Endowed Fund
Through their estate plans, Rob and Susan Shumer have established in this endowment to support the growth and development of the Institute of Community Engagement and Scholarship. Susan was previously director of the institute, and Rob and Susan continue to stay involved in the institute's work. Criteria to be determined by donor.

Joshua D. Siegel Equal Justice Scholarship
This scholarship was created to honor Joshua Siegel, brother of a 1980 Metropolitan State University graduate. Undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree with a Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice major who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible.

Sit Academic Scholarship
This scholarship award is provided through generous contributions from Eugene Sit of Sit Investment Associates. The funds support five scholarships annually to undergraduate students with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Award amounts generally average $1,000. (Applied for within the Kopp/Sit Scholarship application.)

Harry Specht Endowed Community Service Award
Harry Specht (1929-1995) inspired a retired social worker to create the Specht Award for social work students of Metropolitan State University. This award is to encourage aspiring social workers to consider work in community-based social care and is open to daytime juniors and all evening students who have not done their senior practicum. Award amounts generally average $1,000.

Student Parent Center Emergency Fund
Support for students with children who experience financial difficulties due to sudden, unplanned events that jeopardize their ability to stay in school. These funds are not for tuition and fees.

This is a general scholarship fund established to provide an additional source of student financial support.

Travelers EDGE Scholarship Program
This scholarship fund is aimed at preparing students for careers in the insurance and financial services industry and is established to provide financial support to student majoring in accounting, business administration, computer science, finance, marketing, and other fields of study from which Travelers recruit prospective employees. Award amounts generally average between $1500-$6000.

Travelers Professional Development - Emergency Fund
Established by the Travelers insurance company, this fund provides financial assistance for situations that occur which would prevent participation in Pathways Program-related opportunities.

Albert and Deera Tychman Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship fund was established to assist low income students who maintain at least half time status (6 credits per semester). Annual award amounts generally average between $1,000-$3,000. (Applied for within the Reatha Clark King Scholarship application.)

Urban Teacher Endowed Scholarship

Bruce F. Vento Science Educator Scholarship
