Beginning June 15th, 2016, Customers Bank has acquired HigherOne’s Refund Management Disbursement Services Business. Pursuant to this agreement BankMobile Disbursements, a division of Customers bank will provide our students with the same services as previously provided by HigherOne.
Your disbursement options
Once you receive the refund selection kit, you have three options to select how you wish to receive your financial aid or student payroll disbursement. View a short video about BankMobile and how to activate your refund preference.
You will need to choose one:
- Transfer to your existing bank account
- BankMobile checking account
- Choose not to activate BankMobile account
You may request to electronically deposit your financial aid overage or your student payroll to your existing bank account. Visit the https://metropolitanstatecard.vibeaccount.com/ when you receive the card to select your refund preference to have your financial aid or student payroll disbursement transferred.
If you choose this option, your refund will be deposited in your bank account after Metropolitan State sends the funds to BankMobile--typically 2-3 days after the posted disbursement date.
There is no charge for receiving your refund this way. You will have to complete, print and mail an Automated Clearinghouse Transfer (ACH) form.
The Vibe Account is a checking account that you open with BankMobile and linked to your Metropolitan State debit MasterCard. If you select the Vibe Account, you will be able to use your card to make purchases anywhere that MasterCard is accepted and to get cash out of Allpoint ATM machines (note that it is NOT a credit card--it's a debit card, backed by the purchasing power of MasterCard). Visit the Metropolitan State card site when you receive the refund selection kit to select a refund preference and sign up for the optional vibe account
If you choose this option, your disbursement is available the following business day after Metropolitan State sends the funds to BankMobile Disbursements. Financial aid disbursements are usually available the third week of each semester for students that have an active award and are in good academic standing.
There may be fees associate with the Vibe Account, including PIN based transaction fees. To avoid a debit fee, use the "swipe and sign" method when making purchases: swipe your card, select the "credit" option and sign your receipt.

With the Vibe Account you also have the option of various mobile banking features that can be reviewed by setting up your account at https://www.vibeaccount.com
You are not required to select the Vibe Account to receive your financial aid refund. You only have to open the Vibe Account if you wish to have your refund on your Metropolitan State card.
If you are unable to make a refund preference online or if you choose not to make a refund selection, please beware that you can request an instant check to be issued to you.
You will need to submit an email from your student email account to Gateway Student Services at firstname.lastname@example.org. Check issuance appointments will be scheduled Monday-Friday from 2-4:30 p.m. Your email request must include name, tech ID, date and time requested to pick up your check. Check pick up appointments will be 15-minute in duration. Your check issuance requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
