Minneapolis Saint Paul 2017 Film Festival PosterThe Twin Cities community is invited to view a variety of films as part of the 36th Annual Minneapolis Saint Paul International Film Festival. Each year, the Film Society of Minneapolis Saint Paul scours the globe in search of cinematic excellence that is otherwise not available in our part of the world. Last year, 45,158 attendees saw films from 72 countries. This year's festival will feature screenings at Metropolitan State University's Film Space, Capri Theater, Uptown Theatre and St. Anthony Main Theatre.

The festival will also feature a virtual reality exhibit and an experimental film program. Films by African and African American filmmakers, supported by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will be showcased as well.

The mission of the Film Society is "to foster a knowledgeable and vibrant appreciation of the art of film and its power to inform and transform individuals and communities." The society strives to provide the community with local, domestic and international independent films.

Festival passes and 6-packs are now available. Metropolitan State students will be provided complimentary tickets for admission for films screened in Film Space with presentation of a valid university student ID card.
