Sociologist James Densley of Metropolitan State University, along with forensic psychologist Jillian Peterson of Hamline University, will host Making Sense of the Violence in Las Vegas. The event will include an in-depth discussion about mass shootings, why they happen and what we can do about them.

Densley earned degrees in teaching and sociology from The University of Northampton, Pace University and University of Oxford. He has held teaching positions at University of Oxford, Fort Hays State University and Metropolitan State.

Peterson has degrees in sociology and psychology from Grinnell College and University of California, respectively. She has held teaching positions at Metropolitan State, Normandale Community College and Macalaster College, as well as Hamline University.
